PRSPs are prepared by governments through a participatory process involving civil society and development partners, including the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). As part of the World Bank8217;s ongoing series of discussions with civil society on the effects of development and World Bank policies promoting development, two papers were discussed on countrylevel participation in the PRSPs. The first was "Laying the Foundation for Sustainable Development Good Governance and the Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers" by Ann Huduck, Senior Advisor, World Learning. The second was 8220;Assessment of Trade Union Participation in the PRSP Process8221; by Lawrence Egulu, International Confederation of Free Trade Unions. Carolyn Reynolds, Senior Communications Officer, External Affairs, World Bank, chaired the event.

<releaseDate> Thursday, December 11, 2003</releaseDate>

Launch of the Community of Practice on Social Accountabilty

The Community of Practice on Social Accountability (COPSA) is being facilitated

<releaseDate> Wednesday, October 29, 2003</releaseDate>

Intra and InterGenerational Comparisons Poverty, Exclusion, Fear and Voice

Over the last several years Janice Perlman, Professor of Comparative Urban

<releaseDate> Tuesday, October 07, 2003</releaseDate>

Does Community Driven Development Work in Europe and Central Asia?

Community Driven Development (CDD) has tended to polarize the discussion between

<releaseDate> Tuesday, September 23, 2003</releaseDate>

CEERD Opening Plenary

Opening remarks by Mamphela Ramphele on the importance of ownership, capacity, and partnerships.
