GENDER AND FAMILY: LESSONS FROM ACADEMIA

Washington D.C. – On June 12th, 2008, the World Bank presented a panel discussion entitled Gender and Family: Lessons from Academia . Event Chair and Co-Chair of the Staff Association’s Family Issues Group, Ann Jeannette Glauber, said in her opening remarks that their is an initiative to make the World Bank a more family friendly institution. Additionally, she said that the goal of the event was to explore solutions regarding flexibility options that would both promote work-life balance and increase productivity.
