Title:
UNDERSTANDING CIVIL WAR: EVIDENCE AND ANALYSIS |
| Date:
11/8/2005
- 11/8/2005 |
| When seeking to reconstruct postconflict nations, it is useful to understand how those conflicts began and how they played out. In contrast to older economic thinking, which viewed war as an external event similar to a natural disaster, it is now possible to examine the distinct economic causes and consequences of war. In a book launch for Understanding Civil War: Evidence and Analysis, organized by the InfoShop at the World Bank headquarters on November 8, 2005, the editor and a contributing author presented a collection of 16 civil war case studies. |
