| The Shanghai Development Learning Initiative, a partnership between the World Bank and the Government of the People’s Republic of China, brought together case studies, videoconferences, and dialogues to understand the context of development projects. The project culminated in a 2004 working conference. As a follow-up to that conference, the World Bank published Reducing Poverty on a Global Scale to capture the findings of the Shanghai working conference in a narrative form, and launched the book in a forum on November 3, 2005 in the Preston Auditorium of the World Bank’s headquarters. |
