Title:
OPEN SYSTEMS FOR E-GOVERNMENT: OPEN SOURCE, OPEN STANDARDS AND OPEN DOCUMENT FORMAT |
| Date:
5/2/2007
- 5/2/2007 |
| Open-source software has been trumpeted by its advocates as the cure for buggy applications or lack of consumer choice. But could it also be a solution for e-governance? How can developing countries take advantage of the open-source movement? In this seminar held May 23, 2007, and hosted by the E-Government Team of the World Bank’s Information Systems Group, local participants at the Bank’s headquarters and participants at remote sites were linked by videoconference to discuss these technological and political issues. |
