Recovering Assets Stolen Through Corrupt Activities - The World Bank/UNODC s StAR Initiative ( 12/20/2007 ) play audio
There’s nothing “grand” about grand corruption. But many studies on the subject have restricted themselves only to the officials or heads of state that embezzle public funds. What of the role of developed nations in providing an enabling environment for that embezzlement? If it were harder to launder money abroad, how much could be stolen? PODCASTING FAQ
Q. What is a podcast?
A. A podcast is a new technology for delivering audio files to listeners over the Internet. They often take the form of a radio broadcast, and many traditional broadcasters (such as NPR, the BBC, or television channels) have begun to use them as an alternate delivery source.
Q. What do I need to listen to a podcast?
A. Because podcasts are created as standard audio files, they can be played on an everyday computer, as well as on an mp3 player or some cell phones. If you would like to receive the podcasts automatically, you'll need a program that can understand the subscription, such as Juice or iTunes. For Bank employees, visit the isgkiosk in your browser to arrange for a SharpReader installation.
Q. How do I subscribe?
A. Once you have a podcasting program like those noted above, you can subscribe in two ways. The easiest is to drag the orange and white "Subscribe" button to your podcast receiver's window. Many programs will automatically add a feed this way. You can also copy and past the URL for a program into the podcasting window. For specific details, please check the help file for your software.
