Participants are responsible for arranging hotel accommodation for the duration of PPPI Days 2008. The World Bank has agreed rates with the suggested hotels.

Travel / Medical Insurance
As a condition to your participation, you must be in good health and free from any ailment that could impair your attendance. WBI will enroll you in a commercial health insurance plan for the duration of the course. Please note that coverage is limited.
In the event that you are hospitalized and charges exceed policy limits, or are excluded from coverage, WBI will arrange to settle unpaid balances which cannot be met by the individual concerned. In such a case, you or your institution will have to reimburse WBI for any such payments made on your behalf.
Insurance coverage is not provided for dental care or treatment, eye examination, glasses, hearing aids, routine physical examinations, or pregnancy and complications therefrom. Other restrictions apply.
Please note that the equivalent of the first US$50 of all eligible charges, per each illness or accident, is not covered under the terms of the policy and is therefore payable by you.
Weather
In December, the temperature in Washington, D.C. varies between 47 and 32 degrees Fahrenheit (8 to 4 degrees Celsius). Winter clothing is recommended.

Located south of the city along the Potomac River, Reagan Airport offers a full range of domestic flights on major, regional and commuter carriers. Located 26 miles west of Washington, D.C., Dulles Airport offers the greatest range of domestic and international flights. Travel Documents and Visa
Please ensure that your travel documents required to proceed to and enter the United States of America are in order as early as possible. Any expenses related to passports, visas, airport taxes, inoculations, etc. should be paid for either by you or by your institution. Should you encounter any difficulties, please refer to the “communications” section for contact persons.

We advise you to consult with the health officials in your country concerning any vaccinations you may need to travel to Washington, D.C.

Metro now offers BWI Express Metro bus service (B30) between BWI and the Greenbelt metro station. This service provides a direct connection between BWI and the Greenbelt Metro Station. The BWI Express/B30 service runs every 40 minutes, 7 days a week to the Greenbelt Metro Station, which is located on the Green Line of the Washington Metro System. Buses run 25 times each weekday and 21 times on Saturdays and Sunday, every 40 minutes.
