Achieving more with less:
SRI - A new way of rice cultivation

SRI, short for System of Rice Intensification, is a set of new farming practices developed to increase the productivity of land, water, and other farm input. Reports by thousands of farmers and practitioners around the world show that the SRI plants develop strong roots and stalks, and more tillers, with higher yields and even better rice quality– all with less input of water, seeds and other capitals. Rice plants under SRI methods have shown to better resist drought, water logging and wind damages.

Based on practices from many countries, research of documentations, field visits, first hand photos, and interviews with people, a WBI team is developing a multimedia Toolkit to help disseminate the knowledge and bring awareness to people who may be interested in learning more about SRI.
