Case Summaries:

Integrity Pact at Berlin Airport: Schönefeld Airport Berlin and Transparency International Germany set up an Integrity Pact to bind bidders and contractors to refuse to pay/accept bribes or to engage in anti-competitive transactions. Implementation of this Integrity Pact is seen as a best practice example.

Ethics Management System of Bavarian Construction Industry: The Bavarian construction industry association in Germany implemented an Ethics Integrity Management System. After successful implementation in Bavaria, the initiative is now being rolled out in other regions of Germany.

Pato Etico Commerciale (PEC) Paraguay: Founded in 2005, the Pact promotes ethics principles and quality management and includes a certification process for members and audits. PEC is a good example for sustaining initiatives in the long run – 100 new applicants want to join PEC.

Transparency Pacts in Colombia: Local chambers of commerce and mayors signed Transparency Pacts to enhance transparency in procurement. This initiative was able to overcome several common implementation challenges, such as frequent changes of government counterparts, limited government support, and limited resources.
