Chapter 3 of Guide: Describes different Collective Action tools: -Integrity Pacts- a set of transparency principles for participants in projects, -Anti-corruption declarations- mechanisms to to mitigate risks where Integrity Pacts cannot be used, -Certifying business coalitions- with the purpose of engaging members, and - Principle based initiatives- for the engagement of various stakeholder to broaden support for transparency principles.

Integrity Pacts (IPs) by Transparency International (TI): Resources by TI on how to design IPs, including contract examples and case studies.

Case Summaries:

The Construction Sector Transparency Initiative (CoST): CoST is a global multi-stakeholder program designed to bring a greater level of openness to government contracting in construction. The initiative just completed the design phase and was launched in Summer 2008.

Three Brothers in Latvia: The construction of the new national library in Latvia is one of the best described examples of the design and implementation of Integrity Pacts.

Medicines Transparency Alliance (MeTA): A DFID sponsored initiative to achieve transparency in pharmaceuticals. MeTA is currently in the design phase and will work through national and international partners (including DFID, the World Health Organization and Health Action International) to support national efforts to enhance transparency and build capacity in medicine policy, procurement, and supply chain management.

Water Integrity Network: The WIN is a multi-stakeholder initiative established with the purpose of promoting transparency and integrity in the water sector. The initiative was launched in 2006 and the secretariat is hosted by Transparency International.
