Title:
PARLIAMENTS AS PEACEBUILDERS IN CONFLICT-AFFECTED COUNTRIES |
| Date:
5/20/2008
- 5/20/2008 |
| Parliaments are one of the primary institutions of any system of democratic governance, and they also provide natural forums for resolving differences in conflict-affected societies. The launch of the book, “Parliaments as Peacebuilders in Conflict Affected Countries”, which took place at the World Bank Headquarters in Washington D.C. on May 20th, 2008, brought authors and experts together to discuss these issues. The book is the result of a collaboration between the World Bank Institute (WBI), the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, and the Government of Finland. |
