| On June 30, 2009, the World Bank’s EXTOP Info Shop held the event “Information and Communication for Development 2009: Extending Reach and Increasing Impact.” The event was prefaced by Katherine Sierra, Vice-President for the Sustainable Development Network at the World Bank. Presentations and discussion were given by Christine Zhen-Wei Qiang, Senior Economist of the Bank’s Global Information and Communication Technologies department, Otaviano Canuto, Vice-President of the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management (PREM) Network at the World Bank, and Anand Anandalingam, Dean of the Robert H. Smith School of Business of the University of Maryland. Closing Remarks were given by Moshen Khalil, Director of the World Bank’s Global Information and Communication Technologies department.
