Title:
ADDRESSING GENDER AND LEGAL DIMENSIONS IN HIV/AIDS |
| Date:
3/31/2006
- 3/31/2006 |
| As much as HIV/AIDS is about treatment and prevention, it is also about the second-order effects that precipitate its spread, such as gender disparities. In many countries where HIV/AIDS has become epidemic, the problem can be linked to limited legal rights for women. In this March 31, 2006 videoconference, chaired by Gift Manase, a Health Economist for the World Bank Institute, activists and policy makers from several African countries met to discuss how they have approached the gender and legal aspects of HIV/AIDS. |
