Title:
PUBLIC POLICY AND THE CHALLENGES OF CHRONIC NONCOMMUNICABLE DISEASES |
| Date:
6/27/2007
- 6/27/2007 |
| Although the media focus of health and development tends to focus on epidemics like AIDS and avian flu, developing countries must also worry about noncommunicable diseases brought on by aging, environmental factors, smoking, or diet. These afflictions require a somewhat different approach, including more emphasis on preventative care and public awareness. In this launch of “Public Policy and the Challenge of Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases” hosted by the World Bank’s Infoshop, panelists reflected on the publication’s findings and recommendations. |
