 DESCRIPTION 
The conference Voluntary Codes of Conduct for Multinational Corporations: Promises and Challenges conference was held May 12 - 15, 2004 and jointly sponsored by the International Center for Corporate Accountability, Inc. (ICCA), the Zicklin School of Business (Baruch College, CUNY), the Carol and Lawrence Zicklin Center for Business Ethics Research (The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and the World Bank Institute of the World Bank.

Session 21 on May 14, 2004, presented here, addresses the topic: "Draft Norms on the Responsibilities of Transnational Corporations and Other Business Enterprises with Regard to Human Rights (U.N. Doc. E/CN.4/Sub.2/2003/12(2003)". Chaired by Prof. Oliver Williams, Notre Dame University, Notre Dame, Indiana, this sessions includes the following presentations:

  • "Human Rights for Multinational Corporations" - Prof. Thomas Campbell, Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics (CAPPE), Charles Sturt University, University of Melbourne, The Australian National University, Australia.
Session 21 is here followed by Session 25 on May 14, 2004 which addresses the topic "Corporate Codes and Corporate Governance: Perspectives from the U.S. and Asia". Chaired by Lawrence Zicklin, Chairman, Baruch College Fund, CUNY, New York, New York, this session includes presentations by:
