Go
to http://www.real.com.
On the top right side of your screen, you will see
a question mark (?). Click the ? The next screen,
on the right hand side will be a link for previous
player versions. Click on this, and then from the
displayed list, click RealPlayer 8.

Make
a selection of the download location closest
to you geographically, and then select either
download or run, your choice! |

The
next screen asks whether you wish to "open
this file from its current location" or
"save this file to disk". If you "open
this file from its current location" it
will download and install the software directly
on to your system. If you "save this file
to disk", it will download the software
to location you select on your system. You then
must install the software yourself. Users with
modem incurring long distance telephone charges
may wish to select "save this file to disk".
Select on these options and click OK. |

If
you selected "run this program from its
current location" click OK, proceed directly
to step 11. If you have selected "save
this program to disk", when the save/download
is complete, go to the subdirectory where you
saved the file, and double-click on the file,
which will begin the installation procedure,
following step 11 and following. |

You
may click "Next" or "Accept"
through the following screens until you reach
the screen with installation options. Select
which options, if any, you prefer and click
"Continue".

When
you reach the screen where a file folder on
your computer is chosen for where RealPlayer
will be installed, you may wish to note the
file address for future reference.

|
Click
through subsequent screens, selecting which
Customizing or Channel options, if there are
any, that may appeal to you. The final screen
will display which settings you have selected.
Then click "Finish" and the downloading
process will be completed.

At
this point of the installation, you will be
prompted to personalize your software installation.
These selections are very important to the
success of your viewing of video selections,
so make sure you know the proper response
at this stage!

If
you have previously selected "open this
file from its current location", the
software will begin to install automatically.
If you have selected "save this file
to disk", go to the file address where
the software has been downloaded. Double click
the file, and the software will begin to install
itself on your system automatically.

Once
the installation process is complete, a RealPlayer
screen will appear on your computer and play
an Introductory preview for you.
