This
two-week course on "Environmental Economics for
Development Policy" is aimed at persons with
some previous background in economics. It introduces
them to current thinking and best practices in using
environmental economics to address resources and environmental
problems at the macro, sector, and project levels
based on the World Bank knowledge and experience in
applied environmental economics.
Participants
will benefit from this course by:
- Strengthened
skills in analyzing new policies, programs and projects
for sustainable development,
- Built
environmental awareness,
- The
ability to train and advise various types of audiences
such as ministers, parliamentarians, government
officials, managers, journalists, and NGOs on the
analysis of specific environmental issues of relevance
to their respective countries.
