GIOVANNI
RUTA is an environmental economist at the World Bank's
Environment Department - Policy
and Economics Team - where he works as focal point
on environmental indicators, provides expertise on
economic analyses and policy research and assists
in country specific environment policy work.
Giovanni
previously worked at the World Bank Institute, organizing
and delivering environmental economics training. He
joined the Bank after obtaining an MSc degree in 'Environmental
and Natural Resource Economics' from University College
London.
His
MSc research analyzed long-term trends in the link
between deforestation, agricultural intensification
and population growth. Giovanni also holds a BSc in
Economics from Universitá degli Studi di Siena
(Italy).
