Tomás José T. Baliño

Mr. Baliño originally join the Fund in 1977. Since then, he has served numerous positions such as Senior Economist, Assistant Division Chief, Deputy Division Chief, Division Chief, Assistant Director, and Senior Advisor. Mr. Baliño became the Deputy Director of the Monetary and Financial Systems Department at the International Monetary Fund in 2003.

Before joining the Fund, Mr. Baliño served as the Deputy Director and Chief of Analysis of the Center for Monetary and Banking Studies at the Central Bank of Argentina.

Mr. Baliño received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
