Gabriella
Ferencz is a Lead Financial Sector
Specialist with the Financial Sector
Operations and Policy Group of the
World Bank. Gabriella advises countries
on their banking systems, banking
supervision systems and anti-money
laundering regimes. She represents
the World Bank in the Basel Committee's
Core Principle Liaison Group and
the Capital Working Group, contributing
the perspective of developing countries
to the development and implementation
of Basel II, the New Capital Accord.
Prior
to joining the World Bank in 1996,
Gabriella Ferencz worked as a National
Bank Examiner for the Comptroller
of the Currency in New York for 6
years. Previously, Ms. Ferencz was
a Vice President with Citibank, N.A.,
in New York for 12 years, focusing
on commercial lending, real estate
lending and private banking.
She
holds an MBA in Finance from Wharton
Graduate and a Bachelor of Arts and
a Master of Arts in International
Relations from the University of
Pennsylvania.
