Oliver Fratzscher is Senior Financial
Economist with focus on capital markets
and risk management in the Financial
Sector of the World Bank. He has
been leading projects on debt management
in Brazil, institutional investors
in China, capital market assessments
in Korea, and cross-cutting risk
management issues in Asia, Europe,
and Latin America. His previous experience
is in investment banking, where he
managed emerging markets research
at Deutsche Bank and then ABN Amro
Bank in London. He has been a representative
at the London Club and has advised
institutional investors and sovereign
issuers. Earlier, he has been an
economist at the International Monetary
Fund and a research fellow at the
Brookings Institution. A German national,
he is married with two daughters
and holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University.
