Alvir Alberto Hoffmann's career includes
more than 20 years with the Bank of Brazil and
was appointed as Senior Advisor to the Board
of Directors at Supervision Directorate Office
in the Bank of Brazil in March 1999. Among the
positions Mr. Hoffmann held prior to his current
position are Deputy Head and Senior Advisor
to the Supervision and Inspections Department,
Advisor to the Supervision Director, and Head
of the Financial System Accounting Statements
and Financial Reports Division. Since February
1999 Mr. Hoffmann has served as Bank of Brazils
delegate at the Core Principles Liaison Group
of Basle Committee on Banking Supervision and
at the Association of Supervisors of the Americas
(ASBA). Mr. Hoffmann also worked with the IMF
and the World Bank as a consultant. Mr. Hoffmann
received his BS in Accounting from Paraná
State Federal University, in Curitiba, Brazil.
He also holds an MBA in Finance and International
Business from the Brazilian Institute of Capital
Markets in Brasilia, Brazil.
