Ceyla Pazarbasioglu took office in July
2001 as the Vice President of the Banking Regulatory
and Supervisory Agency of Turkey. Prior to her
current position she worked as Chief Economist
and Head of Strategy and Economics Department
with ABN AMRO, U.K, where she was responsible
for coverage of fixed income and equity business
in Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey and Middle
East and North Africa. Between 1992 and 1998
Ms. Pazarbasioglu worked as an Economist at
the International Monetary Fund, providing technical
assistance to countries such as Czech Republic,
Poland, Turkey, Ghana, Korea, Thailand, Russia,
and former Soviet Union States. Ms. Pazarbasi
received her B.S. in Economics from the Bosphorus
University in Istanbul and she holds a Ph.D.
in Economics from Georgetown University and
a Ph.D. in Finance from Princeton University.
