Soula
Proxenos is Director of International Housing Financial
Services at Fannie Mae's corporate headquarters in
Washington, DC. She manages the international advisory
services used by over 30 countries around the globe.
IHFS offers advisory services to institutions and
governments to identify opportunities for strengthening
primary mortgage markets, help assess market readiness
for secondary marketing conduits, and implementation
of housing finance operations.
Before
joining Fannie Mae in 1999, she was Director at the
Council on Financial Competition at the Corporate
Executive Board, Washington, DC, and was responsible
for syndicated research and member education. Her
book on branch banking strategies, Next Generation
Network Management, was published by the CEB in 1999.
Ms.
Proxenos has extensive experience in international
finance. She has managed international marketing and
sales teams, developed strategic alliances, and opened
new markets for the international divisions of South
African and European financial services companies.
Ms.
Proxenos received a B.A. in Philosophy from the University
of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and
an M.B.A. from the University of Stellenbosch, also
in South Africa.
