Dr. Bendimerad has close to 20 years experience in the field of hazard and risk analysis and management. He joined RMS in 1993 as Vice-President for Engineering. He supervised the development of catastrophe risk models for more than 12 countries, and provided oversight of the development of the HAZUS earthquake loss estimation Project for FEMA. Recently, he was principal-in-charge for the development of the RMS Turkey Earthquake model and Israel Earthquake model. He has lectured on catastrophe risk assessment and management at several international scientific and professional forums, and has published more than 40 papers and reports on the subject.

Dr. Bendimerad holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, and is a member of several professional and scientific organizations including Chairman of the Earthquakes and Megacities Initiative.
