Karl leads the international Catastrophe Management Services practice at Willis Re. Based in London, he has worked within the field of catastrophe risk management for the past 8 years, working with insurers, reinsurers and governments. He has been closely involved with the design of catastrophe models and risk management projects during that time. In addition to the Turkey work presented, Karl has worked on a range of topics, including typhoon and earthquake models in the Asia-Pacific region and more recently, flood modelling in Australia. Karl has a degree from the University of Cambridge and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
