Presenter Bios: Dennis Kuzak

Mr. Kuzak is a Sr. Vice President of EQECAT, Inc in their Oakland, CA. home office. His responsibilities include catastrophic risk management consulting to insurance and financial industry clients, Global 500 corporations, government institutions, as well as capital market transactions involving cat bonds and swaps. To date, he has been involved in 14 cat bond transactions totaling over $2 billion. He also was the project manager in charge of EQECAT’s risk analysis and rate filing support for the California Earthquake Authority, a unique private/public primary insurance entity with $7.4 Billion of initial capital sourced from primary insurers, and the reinsurance market. He has also participated in World Bank funded catastrophe related projects in Turkey, Nicaragua, Poland, Mexico, and India.

Prior to joining EQECAT, Mr. Kuzak's 20 year career has included work as a corporate financial executive for a multinational manufacturing company and an investment manager for a $25 Billion lending institution. His responsibilities included asset/liability and interest rate risk management including financial risk products, capital market transactions, and investment management. He has a BS in civil engineering from Purdue University, an MS in structural engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA in finance from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He is a registered Civil Engineer in California.
