Mr. Cahid Nomer serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Milli Re, a reinsurance company in Turkey. He has held various senior managerial positions in the company since he joined in 1964, including: Assistant General Manager, General Manager, and Director and General Manager. Mr. Nomer has held several other positions in the field of insurance, including: Member, Fire Tariff Committee, Turkey; Vice President of the Association of the Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Turkey; President of the Association of the Insurance and Reinsurance Companies of Turkey; and Vice President of the President council of C.E.A. (Comite Europeen des Assurances). Mr. Nomer has published widely on topics in insurance and risk; his works include: General Principles of Insurance and Reinsurance (1977); Reinsurance (in collaboration with Mr. H. Yunak, 1988); General Principles of Insurance (in collaboration with Mr. H. Yunak, 2000); and various other papers and articles on reinsurance and pooling subjects.
