Yuichi Takeda is Head of Integrated Solutions Group at Tokio Marine Management, Inc., a New York based subsidiary of the Tokio Marine and Fire Insurance Co, Ltd. He is currently responsible for coordinating Tokio Marine group’s insurance risk and capital management projects, including catastrophe risk financing, structured reinsurance and development of a proprietary dynamic financial analysis tool to manage Tokio Marine’s insurance risk portfolios. Yuichi has been with the Tokio Marine group for 19 years, having had various positions in corporate strategic planning, financial planning, asset-liability management and alternative risk transfer products development. In the area of catastrophe risk financing, he introduced new risk financing techniques and transactions into insurance and capital markets, including the first Japanese catastrophe bond, Parametric Re, in 1997 to cover the greater Tokyo area and the first international large scale catastrophe risk exchange with a major US primary company in 2000. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and received a BA in Economics from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan in 1984 and a MBA in finance from the Wharton School of the University of the Pennsylvania in 1993.
