Leonid Delberg joined BGS Industrial Management Consulting GmbH in 1992 as a Senior Business Development Manager in the Department for Cashless Payment Systems. As a specialist for the CIS markets and the banking and IT-business, he developed and implemented various smart card solutions for banks and other financial institutions.. In 1997 he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the new founded BGS Smartcard Systems AG (Vienna, Austria). Prior to joining BGS, Leonid Delberg was Chief of the IT Department and Board Member of an American Bank (First Commercial Bank Poland) which pioneered the banking business in Poland in order to develop and maintain western banking standards. From 1989 to 1990 he worked as Managing Director for the Daustrab Trading Company where he was in charge of distributing Novell OS and implementing network systems for banks and other market sectors. Before joining Daustrab, Leonid Delberg was Product Manager for Austro-Olivetti and Chief Engineer at the Lemberg Scientific and Research Institut for Automation. He was born in 1946 in Odessa/Ukraine and received a Masters degree in Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Lemberg/Ukraine.
