Children on the Brink, a joint report from UNICEF, UNAIDS and USAID presents country statistics and projections on the orphan situation, including estimates on AIDS orphanhood.
State of the World's Children,an annual publication from UNICEF, features statistical annexes on child nutrition, child and maternal health, education, HIV/AIDS and demographics.
UNICEF's Child Info presents UNICEF's key statistical databases with detailed country specific information.
MICS, Unicef’s Multi Indicator Cluster Survey provides indicators on child health, nutrition, orphanhood, disabilities and child labor status. Access to primary data can most easily be obtained from Unicef’s local offices.
The DHS StatCompiler from Macro International allows you to select your country (ies) of interest and generate detailed tables on fertility, health nutrition, education, HIV/AIDS, demography, female genital mutilation, fosterhood and orphanhood and more. You can create tables organized on gender, age groups and urban/rural dimension, and the system will convert the table into an excel format for you. You can also easily get permission to download the primary data from the web site.
SIMPOC is ILO's statistical information and monitoring program on child labor. The SIMPOC web site provides country reports with statistical information.
The Coalition to Combat the use of Child Soldiers provides up-dated country reports and regional on the situation of child soldiers.

UNICEF's Child Protection section focuses on orphans, children in conflict with the law, child labor, child trafficking, sexual exploitation of children, children affected by armed conflict, female genital mutilation and violence.
UNAIDS is the main advocate for global action on HIV/AIDS. UNAIDS leads strengthens and supports an expanded response to the epidemic.
The Save the Children Alliance has 27 different country branches. This network site provides links to all of them.

Children affected by HIV/AIDS
USAID is involved with children affected by HIV/AIDS, and at their site you find Children on the Brink [NB! Heavy!] with official global estimates and projections on orphans on a country and region basis, jointly produced by USAID, UNICEF and UNAIDS.
UNICEF; Africa's Orphaned Generations This 52-page publication argues that immediate action can ensure the safety, health and education of the 11 million orphans in sub-Saharan Africa who have been devastated by the HIV/AIDS epidemic
WHO provides resources on children and HIV/AIDS.
The AIDS orphans' Assistance Database The AOAD is a joint effort of AFXB and the ECD Team, Education Sector of the World Bank. The purpose of the AOAD is to facilitate cooperation among organizations and individuals assisting children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS and their caregivers. The AOAD allows users to find, learn about and contact each other. The database also aims to help donors identify potential project partners directly, thus eliminating costly intermediaries.
Child Labor
ILO/IPEC, alongside UNICEF, is an official partner of the World Bank on issues related to child labor through a joint project Understanding Children's Work. IPEC, ILO’s International Program for the Elimination of Child Labor, provides statistics as well as project experience on their web site.
Understanding Children's Work is an inter-agency research cooperation project of UNICEF, ILO and The World Bank, located at UNICEF's research center Innocenti in Florence, Italy.
Anti-Slavery International are involved in issues related to the worst form sof child labor, like slavert, sevitude, bondage and trafficking.
The Child Labor Coalition (CLC) exists to serve as a national network for the exchange of information about child labor; provide a forum and a unified voice on protecting working minors and ending child labor exploitation
Global March Against Child Labor is an international movement dedicated to giving every child a chance to live and grow without the burden of exploitative work. This site is a good source for news and reports.
Children affected by armed conflict
OCHA, the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, who also service internally displaced people, focuses particularly on children and war.
UNHCR, the United Nation’s High Commissioner of Refugees is a central actor in most war and conflict situations and has a special focus on refugee children.
ICRC, The International Committee of the Red Cross is also mostly present in conflict and war situation and under their children in war they focus on protecting, assisting and working preventively with children in war situations.
WHO provides resources on children in a war situation.
Women's Comission for Refugee Women and Children, is working to improve the lives of refugee and internally displaced women, children and adolecents.
The War Child initiative is a network of independent organisations
working across the world to help children affected by war, and active in several African countries.
