The environmental economics and policy (EEP) training
course focuses on environmental valuation and policy
analysis. The content of the course includes two parts:
Part I - environmental economics and policy analysis
and Part II - analysis of projects with environmental
impacts.
The course delivery is in two phases. Phase one offered
four training-of-trainer (TOT) courses in 1998-2000
and phase two consists of courses offered by course
graduates and resource persons at various training institutions
in China. The audience of the first phase were mainly
trainers as well as policy analysts and other environmental
professionals working on environmental issues in China
were targeted.
TOT
courses were offered in collaboration with the Chinese
Research Academy of Environmental Science (CRAES),
the World Wild Fund for Nature (WWF), World Resources
Institute (WRI), Shenzhen City, Shanghai Environmental
Protection Agency, and Tongji University. Currently,
World Bank Institute is working with Peking University,
Nanjing University, Sichuan University, Tongji University,
Renmin University, and Beijing Normal University to
jointly deliver the course on campus.
