The
World Bank Institute presented its Labor Market Policies
Core Course for the second year running in Washington,
D.C. from April 22 to May 3, 2002.
This
global course was designed to provide participants
with a solid grounding in the key issues that arise
in the labor market. It focused on topics related
to labor market adjustment, productivity of workers
and the reduction of poverty in the labor force.
The
Labor Markets Policies Core Course was open to participants
from around the world. It was an excellent opportunity
to network with key labor market policy makers from
client countries and partner institutions. WBI encouraged
the formation of country teams from different institutions
as well as teams comprising Bank and country counterpart
staff. We offered special fees for participants registering
as a team.
