Madeleine Gunny is currently Team Leader for the european Training Foundation's thematic group, Vocational Education and Training Reform in the context of Lifelong Learning. During the last three years at the European Training Foundation, she has provided policy papers, contributed to and organized international conferences (on vocational education and training, European Social Fund planning and implementation, access to education for Roma minorities). She has also initiated a series of regional SME skills studies in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Lithuania. Before joining the staff of the European Training Foundation, Madeleine worked for the Training and Enterprise Councils in the North West of England, first as their Regional European Co-ordinator and then as their Human Resources Development and European Policy Advisor. She has substantial experience in regional HRD planning and related labor market issues in the UK working in partnership with regional stakeholders and wide experience of all aspects of programming and project development for the European Social Fund. At the start of her career, she worked in publishing and education. She is currently planning lifelong learning development activities together with the lifelong learning thematic team and the different departments of the European Training Foundation that have responsibilities for the candidate countries, the Western Balkans, the new Independent States of Russia and countries in the Mediterranean area.
