David Harding works in the Global Child Labor Program at the World Bank and in the education team of the World Bank Institute (WBI). Previously, he worked as a Senior Education Specialist in the Latin American and Caribbean Region of the World Bank. His field of interest is in the interplay between child labor and educational access, quality and equity issues. David joined the Bank in 1998 from UNICEF where, as Chief of Education in India, he had been involved with programs in education and child labor. Prior to joining the UN system, David was Education Field Manager in British DFID in West Africa and, before that, an education sector adviser in Myanmar (Burma) and the Middle East. A British national, he holds a Ph.D. in Education from the University of London.
