Lawrence Jeff Johnson is the Chief of the Key Indicators
of the Labor Market (KILM) for the United Nations
International Labor Organization. The KILM project
is a major initiative implemented as follow-up to
the Resolution of the 83rd Session of the International
Labor Conference concerning employment in a global
context. This initiative is aimed at increasing the
prominence of labor market information in debates
on labor market issues as well as widening the range
of labor market indicators in member States. As Chief
of the program he seves as one of the principal advisors
on issues relating to labor market policy and information
to member States of the ILO. During his tenure with
the ILO, he has served as an advisor to member countries
in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe,
Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining
the International Labor Organization, which is based
in Geneva, Switzerland, he served for more than ten
years as a labor Market Economist with the United
States Bureau of Labor Statistics.
