Ms. Lin Lean is currently Manager of the Gender Promotion
Program in the International Labor Office, Geneva.
Prior to this, she was Manager of the ILO International
Program on More and better Jobs for Women and Senior
Specialist on Women Workers' Questions for Asia and
the Pacific. Before joining the ILO, she was Associate
Professor of Applied Economics at the University of
Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. She is a Development Economist
by training, and is the author of several books and
journal articles on labor market issues, international
migration and gender concerns. She has been reponsible
for preparing the report and will be the ILO Director-General's
Representative for the 19th International Labor Conference
General Discussion in June 2002 on Decent Work and
the Informal Economy. She also coordinated a project
which worked with consultants to prepare a report
on Women and Men in the Informal Economy: A Statistical
Picture.
