Andrew MAson is a Senior Economist in the World Bank's
Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Network.
He is co-author of the recent World Bank Policy Research
Report "Engendering Development -- Through Gender
Equality in Rights, Resources, and Voice". Since
coming to the World Bank in 1994, Mr. Mason has specialized
in economic analysis of gender, poverty, labor market,
and education sector issues. Prior to joining the
World Bank, Mr. Mason worked as a policy analyst for
the Harvard Institute for International Development
in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he focused on poverty
as well as on trade and industrial policy analysis.
He has worked in several other countries as well,
including Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and
Vietnam. Mr. Mason holds a Ph.D. in applied economics
from Stanford University and a Master of Public Policy
(MPP) from Harvard University.
