Mansoora Rashid is Lead Economist in the Human Development
Department in the Eastern Europe and Central Asia
Region of the World Bank. She is also Program Team
Leader for Social Protection in Russia. Her recent
work includes a study on the "Russian Labor Market:
From Crisis to Recovery" and the "Transition
Countries Social Protection Strategy: Balancing Protection
and Opportunity". She has extensive experience
in pension reform, social assistance, labor markets,
and poverty in Central and Eastern Transition Countries,
where she has worked most extensively (Romania, Macedonia,
Uzbekistan, Russia). She holds a Ph.D. in Economics
from the University of Chicago.
