Michelle Riboud is Manager of the Human Development Group of the World Bank Institute, a position she has held since 1998. Prior to coming to the Institute, she was Program Team Leader for the EU Accession Program, in particular Program Leader for Hungary. From 1994-97, Ms. Riboud was Sr. Country Leader for Hungary. Prior to that she was Sr. Country Economist leading policy dialogue with Georgia. She has also be involved with Latin american countries, specifically Mexico, Costa Rica and Venezuela. Before joining the Bank, Ms. Riboud was Director of the Research Center on Labor Economics and Industrial Organization at the University of Orleans in France, in addition to being a Professor of economics at the same university. Ms. Riboud received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
