Maurizia Tovo is a Senior Operations Officer in the
Latin America and Caribbean Region, and the lead regional
contact on child labor and child protection. Since
joining the World Bank in 1985, her work has covered
a broad spectrum of development issues from gender,
enterpreneurship development, commuity empowerment,
and infrastructure. In her current role, Ms. Tovo
is the Bank representative for country level implementation
of the inter-agency UCW pilot activity in Guatemala.
She has also conducted extensive work on child labor
and protection issues in West Africa, and analysis
on utilizing social risk management strategies to
prevent child trafficking in Togo and Benin. Other
areas of expertise include social funds and community
driven development.
