Robert
S. Chase is Assistant Professor of Economics at the
Johns Hopkins University School for Advanced International
Studies (SAIS). He received his Ph.D. in Economics
and was Olin Post-Doctoral Fellow of International
Security Studies at Yale University. For the last
several years, he has been a consultant for the World
Bank on the Social Funds 2000 impact evaluation, working
on the initial concept paper for the multi-country
study, plus focusing on the Zambia and Armenia case
studies. His academic research concerns labor markets
in transition economies. He has also published policy
work on United States strategy toward the developing
world.
