Daniel
Owen is a Senior Social Development Specialist in
the Social Development Department and is currently
coordinator of the Bank's anchor unit for Community-driven
Development in ESSD. He joined the CDD anchor at its
inception in October, 2000. Previously he has worked
as a Social Development Specialist at the IFC and
as a consultant in the Mozambique Resident Mssion
and in the Bank's Southern Africa Department (1991-1996).
His interests within the CDD agenda lie particularly
in issues of CDD and Conflict and in participatory
monitoring and evaluation. He has considerable experience
in designing and managing participatory poverty assessments
and beneficiary assessments and in PRA training. Currently
working on CDD operations in Angola, Sao Tome e Principe
and Sierra Leone. His academic background is in Anthropology.
