Caroline
Kende-Robb is currently working for the International
Monetary Fund as a Social Development Specialist,
focusing on how to make Fund-supported programs more
poverty focused. Previous to this, Caroline spent
five years in the private sector as a commercial manager.
She then spent over five years living and working
in Gambia, West Africa, first as a business and community
development volunteer with Voluntary Service Overseas.
She then worked as an NGO Field Director and this
was followed by an assignment with the UNDP where
she assisted the government to develop a national
strategy for poverty alleviation. Before joining the
IMF, Caroline worked for the World Bank focusing on
participation and poverty analysis and analyzing the
poverty and social impacts of the financial crisis
in East Asia. She is the author of "Can the Poor
Influence Policy? Participatory Poverty Assessments
in the Developing World", a joint IMF/World Bank
publication.
