Community Resources

To be successful and to deliver the highest value to your community, your school-based telecenter may need to offer special services and resources—such as information for nursing mothers or mothers-to-be, self-paced tutorials on specific applications, courses in "computer comfort" that lead to the International Computer Driver’s License or other certification. We’ve identified a few of the many resources that address community development and technology use. Categories include:

Adult education
Community development
Technology training (for telecenter clients)

We’re adding to these resources all the time. If you know of a source of information or education that could benefit telecenters and their communities, email us today.

ADULT EDUCATION
Telecenters are challenged to provide relevant educational resources for adults concerned about the well-being of their families, success in their jobs, or events in civil society. And many adult learners have already been failed by the education system—so the tried-and-true methodologies used in schools may cause more problems than they cure.
