 Overview
The
sustainability and expansion of pilot ICT in education
programs are highly dependent upon national level
involvement, including policymakers' support and understanding
of how large-scale technology programs are designed
and implemented.
Following
the lessons learned from its successful five-year
pilot program — World Links for Development (WorLD)
— that introduced ICT in education programs in
over twenty developing countries, the Education Program
at the World Bank Institute has developed and sponsored
a complementary series of tools and resources to aid
policymakers responsible for planning and implementing
ICT and education projects.
