 Instructor Notes

The workshop facilitator may wish to utilize some or all of the following Internet tools during the course of this workshop:

ICT for Education web site

The web site for the World Links Policymakers Workshop is designed as a growing repository of resources for the workshop and resources for instructors and participants of the workshop on an ongoing basis.

All of the materials used during the course of the workshop, including workshop activities, instructor notes, presentations and supporting documentation, are available for free download in a variety of electronic formats on the web site.

In addition, the web site also contains an on-line database of high quality resources grouped by workshop module. The resources found in each module will continue to be expanded and will provide a living laboratory of materials and experiences of both World Links support personnel and policy makers from around the globe.

On-line discussion area

An on-line discussion area can provide a focal point during the week for participants to find background information on various topics, directions from the workshop instructor, and links to resources of interest. A discussion area can also serve as a mechanism to collect and disseminate information by and for workshop participants, functioning as an on-line archive of information about the workshop participants and the work completed during the course of the workshop. Instructors are free to chose any discussion tool with which they are comfortable - a country may have already designated a tool for this purpose.

E-mail listservs and discussion groups

Many workshop instructors have found the creation and development of an e-mail listserv or discussion group to be an important tool to support the planning of this workshop, as well as facilitating the work of the participant group once the workshop is complete. One popular tool used to create such e-mail groups is the free Yahoo! Groups application available on the Yahoo! web site (http://groups.yahoo.com).
