Activity
6: a] Moving from Issue to Goal activity |
Half Day |
|
Overview
& Instructor Notes - a] Moving from Issue to Goal The purpose of this activity is to take the issues that were identified during the introduction activity and turn them into draft policy goals and strategic action plan objectives. Prior to this activity the issues should have been grouped logically. Typically they fall into 4 or 5 categories like connectivity and infrastructure, human resource development and professional development, content development and implementation and maintenance. Assign one category to each small group. For each issue the groups must: 1. Answer
the question- Are there any related issues? A sample response has been provided and should be given to the participants to guide their deliberations. The groups will only be able to complete one or two issues in each category during the workshop because of time restraints. The groups each report back to the large group with the results of their work. This activity can take up to ½ day. The work
of the groups is given to the working group and forms the basis of the
ongoing policy development. Overview & Instructor Notes - b] Moving from Issues to Policy Goals The purpose of this activity is to take the issues identified earlier and turn them into policy goals and strategic action plans. Each small group will be assigned a group of issues. |
