Educom's National Learning Infrastructure Initiative (NLII) and IBM held a roundtable of 45 knowledgeable, higher education leaders to discuss the virtual university. The intention was to begin with a vision of what higher education might be like in the future--especially as influenced by the virtual university. The roundtable helped test an initial statement of the issues and contributed its own sense of what was possible and not possible. This paper reflects the results of those deliberations.
