Grant Purpose:
The purposes of the grant were to support in developing of a Social and Economic Recovery Fund to promote producer's capacity and to address gaps in the access to basic social services by vulnerable groups especially returnees and settlers, and to assist in establishmg of a series of economic and social hinkages between members of different ethnic communities and improving of a collaboration between local and private institutions in view of reducing social tensions.
More specifically, the project aims at facilitating the expected return of Croatian Serbs to the area known as former Knin Krajina in Croatia.

Grant Activities:
The grant supported:
(1) Provision of micro-projects through grants for:
(i) income-generating activities promoted by producers' groups in rural and urban areas; (ii) community-based social services aimed at vulnerable groups in different ethnic communities.
(2) Carrying out of assessment of market opportunities and producer's current needs, capacity and potential changes and identifying training and other requirements for services delivery system;
(3) Carrying out a project evaluation.
The project had three major outputs: (a) a Regional Needs and Operational Plan; (b) the opening of two Regional Development Facilities; (c) pilot projects addressing community needs.
